Jubilee Homes of Syracuse and Equality Equation is proud to announce the launch of a new Heavy Equipment Operator Training Program, a hands-on workforce initiative designed to help local residents gain valuable skills, earn industry certifications, and begin a rewarding career in the construction field.
Participants in this program will receive paid training (stipend) while learning how to safely and effectively operate real heavy machinery — including excavators, lifts, and other essential construction equipment. This program provides not only the technical training needed to enter the industry but also the professional development support to help graduates secure employment with local contractors and workforce partners.
Hands-On Learning and Industry Certification
The Heavy Equipment Operator Training Program offers participants an opportunity to earn multiple, nationally recognized certifications that can open doors across the construction industry. Training includes:
OSHA 10-hour Construction Certification
NCCER CORE & Heavy Equipment Operator I Certifications
Simulator and hands-on training on heavy equipment, including excavators
These certifications demonstrate a commitment to safety, professionalism, and technical skill — qualities that employers value and seek in potential hires. Participants will receive expert instruction from industry professionals, ensuring they develop both the knowledge and confidence to begin their new career path.

Orientation & Assessment Schedule
Before training begins, all interested participants must attend one of the program’s orientation and assessment sessions. These sessions help identify readiness for the program and provide an overview of what participants can expect.
Orientation and assessment dates are as follows:
Tuesday, November 18th at 5:00 PM
Thursday, November 20th at 2:00 PM
Friday, November 21st at 5:00 PM
Saturday, November 22nd at 10:00 AM
